08/10/14: Tigerman

Posted on 09/05/2025 by goosespringsteen

Shinjuku is an interesting place with interesting people. One the most interesting characters has to be the flamboyant Tigerman – also known as the Shinjuku Tiger. To his friends and drinking companions he’s known as TIGER-SAN.

Tigerman is a Japanese newspaper deliveryman who works around Shinjuku in downtown Tokyo. He’s spotted regularly in an outlandish costume and tiger mask. Even more fascinating than his quirky outfit is the fact that he’s been wearing this costume every day for the last 40 years!
